Breakwater. 1839-43 built by George Casebourne, engineer to the Bude Harbour and
Canal Company to a design by James Walker. Stone rubble. Low deeply battered
wall standing four feet above the high water mark of spring tides forming the
harbour wall. The present structure replaces the 1819 breakwater and pier built
for the Company and destroyed by a storm in 1838. Helen Harris and Monica Ellis,
