GV II

House in row, with shop. Late C18 or early C19. Flemish bond
brickwork, tile roof, brick stacks. A square front block with
lower back wing and throughway to left. Behind the main
building is a detached small C18 cottage facing the
throughway.
3 storeys, 2-windowed. Plate-glass sashes to brick voussoirs
with decorated keystones, stone cills. Ground floor has C19
shop front with recessed glazed door. To the left a good
9-panel moulded C19 door under deep transom-light, concealed
by later shop fascia. Stone modillion cornice, small blocking
course and coped parapet. Brick stack near front, left, and
back, left. The throughway has stone flagged floor and approx
2m of brick barrel-vaulted ceiling.
Lower 3-storey back wing with hipped roof has 4-pane sash at
eaves above 12-pane sash to segmental voussoirs and a flush
keystone in very good brickwork with fine joints.
Behind No.101 is a detached 2-storey C18 cottage in
timber-framing with brick nogging and tile roof with a gable
stack. Windows temporarily blocked, and all in poor condition.
