Cemetery
II
Citizens' war memorial. 1951. Portland stone and sandstone
ashlar. Slightly tapered square framed panel with inscription
in raised bronze lettering, flanked by a low segmental wall
whose returns carry bronze lamps. Beyond, semicircular coped
enclosing wall with coping and flowerbeds. Within the
enclosure, shaped steps. The memorial is unusual in that it
commemorates civilians killed in air attacks between 1939 and
1945.
