Former house, now club. Early to mid C19. Stucco with slate
hipped roof and a red brick stack over each flank. 3 storeys
with cellars. Elevation: second floor has 3 recessed 8 paned
double-hung sash windows. On the first floor, the 2 outer bays
have double-hung sash windows with central vertical glazing
bars in double recessed segmental headed panels. In the centre
is a similar window in a deeper segmental headed recess
including both ground and first floors. The outer parts of the
ground floor have flat-roofed, canted bay windows with flat
roofs, stucco cornices and double-hung sash windows in each
face. In the centre is a doorcase with attached Tuscan columns
and 4 stone steps with a pair of cast-iron footscrapers. Door
of 2 leaves with 3 moulded panels in each and moulded cornice
and semicircular Adamesque fanlight over. Black painted plinth
with 2 cellar lights, one with iron grille. Flagstaff mounted
against wall in cente of upper part of facade. S flank is
rendered. Rear: lean-to roofed extension and large C20
clubroom extensions.
INTERIOR: much altered but some panelled doors on second floor
and cornices on ground floor front rooms.
