House, now flats. Late C18 (after 1778), altered C20. Coursed
squared sandstone with ashlar dressings, and at the rear
coursed rubble. Stone slate roof and gable chimneys.
Double-depth plan.
3 storeys over a cellar and 2 bays, with a prominent
first-floor sill band and, continuing the lintels of the top
windows, a plain frieze beneath a hollow-moulded eaves
cornice. The right-hand half of the ground floor incorporates
the remains of a former waggon entrance, with a massive stone
lintel, but beneath this there are now 2 narrow coupled
doorways with plain surrounds; the first contains the door to
the house, while the other opens into a through-passage to the
former back yard. To the left is a 16-pane sashed window. On
the first and second floors are, respectively, 2 taller and 2
shorter 12-pane sash windows, all with raised plain surrounds.
All the sashes are C20 replacements in keeping.
