House; the former Vicarage to St John's Church (qv), now
offices. C18, with early C19 and C20 single-storey rear
extensions. Red brick with a plain parapet; black glazed
pantiles, plaintiles and slate to the various slopes of the
mansard roof. L-shaped plan with a long rear wing.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys, attics and cellars; 3 window range on
west and south, all C19 sashes without glazing bars in flush
cased frames. 3 flat-headed dormers with 2-light casement
windows, 2 small-paned, one with a single horizontal glazing
bar. The central 6-panel entrance door has a rectangular
fanlight with radiating glazing bars and is up 3 stone steps;
the doorcase has a flat cornice hood on brackets.
INTERIOR: extensive brick-lined cellars: one cross-wall in red
brick and kidney flint; part with a ceiling of re-used
timbers. Plain interior without panelling; C19 stair with
stick balusters.
