SO 54 NW MARDEN CP THE VAULD

Farmhouse. Probably C17 or C18 re-fronted in late C19. Timber-frame,
brick re-fronting to south, pantile and slate roofs, local type extended
rendered stone end stack to west. Roughly a T-plan with the head facing
south: two storeys, three windows. The interest lies in the two front
arms which have two bays. North arm: one storey and attic; west elevation
has opening in timber panels to right. of centre and ledged door at junction
with the other arm; two late C20 symmetrically placed gabled dormers.
Three panels from cill to wall-plate. South arm: two storeys, one 2-light
late C19 casement to right of junction with north arm on ground floor.
Formerly four panels high, now partly underbuilt in brick; low C19 single
storey brick extensions to west.
