Cottage. 1887. By John Douglas at expense of the first Duke of
Westminster. Stone-dressed blue-diapered Ruabon red brick; red
clay tile roof.
2 storeys of one bay; ground floor has hip-roofed porch facing
churchyard, left. The cottage has gable-end to road; 2
corbelled basket-arches support the first storey above a
slightly bayed window of 3 ogee-headed leaded lights. First
floor stone band; diapering; 2 mullioned 2-light leaded
casements in ornate sandstone surround; band above lintels;
stepped and shaped gable with diapering, leaded light to
cockloft, stone copings and ball finial; chimney on ridge with
separate spiral-moulded brick flues, 3 to front, one to rear.
A simpler stone-capped rear gable.
The porch has a small leaded light to front, door of 5 tall
narrow panels on blacksmith's hinges in ornate sandstone case
dated 1887; wrought-iron gate to cottage and churchyard.
