Pair of semi-detached houses. Mid C19. Brick in Flemish bond
with stucco cement trim. Hipped roof of slate turnerised.
2 storeys. 2 windows each. Flat-arched entrance to each unit
set in 2-storey stair hall on each return; entrance porch
formed by one Tuscan column on corner with responds; the steps
flanked by a balustrade, which also encloses the porch.
Entablature with bracket cornice above entrance.
Windows to 2-storey wing on return are round-arched with
architraves and keystones of vermiculated rustication;
bracketed cornice to 1st floor.
Main range has camber-arched basement windows and round-arched
ground-floor windows with eared and shouldered architraves and
panelled lower spandrels; the latter have vermiculated
keystones. Storey band between ground and 1st floor.
First-floor windows are flat-arched with projecting sills on
vermiculated brackets, and architraves. Entablature band to
eaves cornice. Chamfered and fielded corner quoins to main
block and entrance porches. Rusticated, full-height strip on
party wall which is expressed above the roof. Stack on party
wall. One flat-arched dormer each with shouldered surround
that is of an original design.
