Row of 4 houses, now 3 dwellings (the former No.19 integrated
with No.21). Probably early to mid C18; altered. Nos 17 & 19
of whitewashed brick, Nos 21 & 23 white painted render;
graduated slate roof with brick chimneys. No.17 has a full
double-depth plan, the others are one-and-a-half depth, all
originally single-fronted.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys; 4-window range. Doorways to the left
(that formerly to No.19 now blocked), those to Nos 17 & 21
square-headed with wooden frames and board doors but that to
No.23 heightened, with a C20 glazed door.
No.17 has a 3-light sliding sash window at ground floor and a
small 2-light sliding sash above, with glazing bars; Nos 19 &
21 have 3-light small-paned sliding sashes at ground floor,
with glazing bars, and low 3-light windows above (now
casements but otherwise similar); No.23 has a C20 bow at
ground floor and an enlarged window above.
Ridge chimneys. Rear: Nos 21 & 23 have gabled dormers.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
Forms group with Nos 11 & 13 to the left (qv), and with Nos
14-18 opposite (qv).
