577-1/64/578 (South side)
Nos.2, 2A AND 3
II
Houses. Late C18. Brick or possibly mathematical tile in
Flemish bond, stucco scored to imitate ashlaring. Roof of
tile. 2 storeys and attic over basement. One window each.
Ground floor of No.2 and entrance to upper floor, No.2A Nile
Cottage, much altered in C20. Entrance to No.3 also altered;
its shop front, however, dates to C19. The first-floor window
of each is tripartite and flat arched with sashes of an
original design: 6 x 6 to centre and 2 x 2 to sides. One
dormer to each, that to No.3 is blocked. The stucco scoring on
each is now hard to discern, and the stucco facing is gone
from the centre and left side of No.2. No.3 has original
stair; the first set of risers and railings alone remain. In
the top right corner of No.2 is a small square opening, the
only visible remains of a partly blocked window.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
