Includes: No.1 NILE STREET.
Terraced house with extension to rear, No.1 Nile Street;
converted to restaurant and offices. Early C19. Stucco. Roof
obscured by parapet.
3 storeys over basement. 3-window range. C20 flat-arched
entrance at the right party wall is framed by pilasters. The
remainder of the ground floor taken up by restaurant. The wood
shop front dates to the C19 and consists of Tuscan pilasters,
similar to those framing the entrance, and a broad entablature
with projecting cornice. In the centre range are blocked,
flat-arched windows with projecting sills. To either side is a
canted bay to the first and second floor; the bays windows are
flat arched and tripartite. The bays stop just short of a
continuous entablature band; parapet above and stacks to party
walls. The Nile Street elevation is faced with stucco, the
roof obscured; single storey of 6 bays. The front is treated
as a Tuscan pilastrade; flat-arched entrance in third bay;
fifth bay is much altered, with a C20 entrance; the remaining
bays are glazed with panelled spandrels.
