GV II

House, now school. C18 with C19 alterations. Brick with
limestone ashlar facade; hipped graduated slate roof with
brick rear stacks. L-plan.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys plus attic; symmetrical 3-window range.
First-floor sill band and top cornice; rusticated quoins.
Entrance has architrave, pilaster strips, frieze and bracketed
pediment to 6-panel door (4 panels glazed, 2 fielded).
2-storey bay windows with sills and cornices to paired windows
with rounded upper angles and key blocks; similar side lights;
central first-floor window has architrave with key block,
frieze and cornice; all windows have plate-glass horned
sashes; 3 pedimented dormers have slate-hung sides and 2-light
small-paned casements.
Brick returns and rear have dentil brick cornices; left return
has hipped dormer; 2-storey rear.
INTERIOR: not inspected, but has stick-baluster staircase.
