SO48NE Gateway to drive of Acton Scott Hall
1312-1/10/9 5 metres east of churchyard of St
Margaret

GV II

Gatepiers and gates. C18. Brick with ashlar dressings, iron
gates. Pair of gates between pair of brick piers attached to
splayed flank walls. Gate piers each with brick shaft, ashlar
moulded corner dressings, base, cap with moulded cornice, and
surmounted with finial of globe set in chalice enriched with
twisted gadroon carving. Iron gates with alternate long and
short enriched spear-head standards, swept top rail and brace,
plain middle and bottom rails.
