Inn now cafe. Early C17 core with C19 and C20 alterations.
Painted timber framing with painted brick infilling, brick
painted imitation timber frame. Plain-tile roofs with 3 C19
integral brick ridge stacks, slate roof with corbelled brick
verge and eaves with C19 integral brick eaves stack.
Rectangular plan parallel to street of 4 framed bays with
later cross wing gable to north.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys and attic. Street front of square framing
originally 4 panels high, with raised eaves of additional
panel, pair of straight tension braces on each end bay. 4 C19
mullioned and transomed wood casements; central recessed
panelled door in slightly projecting pedimented porch. To
right at the corner of The Square is the C19 brick gabled
addition with painted imitation timber framing and with C19
mullion and transom window to ground and first floors, 2-light
leaded attic casement. Gable-end return wall facing The Square
with C19 mullion and transom window over panelled door.
Left return of timber-framed range is painted and rendered;
first-floor casement. Rear covered by C19 extensions.
