House, then boarding school for girls, then house. Late C18,
with late C19 altered frontage. Red brick on stone plinth with
upper level of painted roughcast. Plain-tile roofs behind
facade parapet. Integral brick gable-end stacks. Rectangular
plan of 2 parallel ranges with ridges aligned to the street.
EXTERIOR: street front is a 3-storey, 3-window range of 6/6
sashes; 2 C19 6/6 sashes within raised eaves of attic floor; 2
flat-roofed bay windows on ground floor flanking wood pilaster
doorcase with open pediment, radial fanlight, panelled reveals
and 6-panelled door. Scattered fenestration of wood casements
at left return side. Rear: 3-storey, 3-window range.
Gothick-style pointed wooden 2-light casements above and
ground-storey partly covered by single-storey stone rubble
extension wing.
