Description

Late 17th century. Free standing round headed arch. Alternate courses of polished ashlar and projecting rusticated ashlar with chevron ornament to N elevation. Keystone with raised, weathered shield.

Statement of Interest

The arch appears to have stood at the end of an avenue which at one time lead to Temple House, bought, in poor condition, by the Dundas family in 1761. The foundations were noted in the RCAHMS Inventory.
