Description

Early 20th century.

GATEPIERS: 3 pairs of square-plan gatepiers. Squared and snecked sandstone; ashlar dressings. Base course; cornice; convex frieze; ball finials to central pair; original gabled iron entrance bell to right main pier.

GATES: iron carriage and pedestrian gates to entrance; curved at apex; gilt detailing within carriage gates.

BOUNDARY WALLS: coped rubble quadrant walls.

Statement of Interest

With South Lodge (see separate list description) the items form an impressive entrance to Dunskey Estate. Of particular interest is the original entrance bell. Other listings on the Dunskey Estate are Dunskey House, Home Farm, the Stables, walled garden and greenhouses, Kennels House and kennels, gatepiers, gates and boundary walls to North Lodge and within estate, South Lodge, and the cablehouse.
