Description

James Kennedy Hunter, 1901-4. 2-storey, 2-bay L-plan lodge with lean to to rear. Harl. Crowstepped gables.

SW (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: roll-moulded entrance to recessed bay to outer right; timber door. Single window at ground to advanced gabled bay to outer left; 2 single windows at 1st floor.

NE (REAR) ELEVATION: lean-to extension at ground; single window to left; timber door to right; flanking coped walls; ball finials. Single window at 1st floor to gabled bay.

8-and 12-pane timber sash and case windows. Grey slate roof; wallhead stack; circular cans.

INTERIOR: not seen 1997.

Statement of Interest

With gatepiers, gates and boundary walls (see separate list description), the lodge forms an impressive entrance to the Dunskey Estate.
