Description

Mid 19th century. 4-storey, 4-bay tenemental building with shops to ground floor. Cream ashlar, slate roof. Corniced ground floor, cill band to 1st and 2nd floor, eaves course, corniced blocking course; corniced and architraved windows to 1st floor, margined to 2nd and 3rd, 2-pane timber sash and case glazing; corniced ridge stacks.

FRONT ELEVATION: close doorway to centre flanked by modern shopfronts, 4 windows to each upper floor.

INTERIOR: not seen.

This building is listed for its contribution to the integrity and continuity of the streetscape. The chambers above were occupied by textile merchants (eg John Gilroy in 1874).
