Description

Earlier 19th century, addition 1895. 2-storey 3-bay house with projecting side addition, fronting garden. Cream sandstone, coursed and squared rubble with droved dressings, squared and snecked rubble to wing. S (FRONT) ELEVATION: cill band course at 1st floor; entrance door at centre with plain consoled cornice, single window at 1st floor above. Outer bays with single windows at ground and 1st floor. N (REAR) ELEVATION: single windows to ground and 1st floor of each bay; wallhead stack to right of centre. 2-storey projection with piend roof and 2 modern windows on return to outer left.

E ELEVATION: gabled with rendered apex stack and small window in gablehead. Projection with rubble forestair to rear, 2 small windows. Timber sash and case windows, 4-pane to rear, plate glass glazing to front. Slate roof with lead flashings, apex and wallhead stack (see above); 2 velux to S.

INTERIOR: not seen 1992.

RAILINGS: low rubble wall to front with flat coping, original decorative cast-iron railings.

Statement of Interest

The side addition was built in 1895 to provide a wash house and extra bedroom.
