Description

Earlier 19th century; minor alterations 1991. 2-storey and basement, 3-bay, rectangular-plan, piend-roofed classical house with tall single storey pavilions. Rubble with ashlar porch, dressed margins and quoin strips. Eaves course.

N (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: centre bay with projecting porch and panelled timber door with decoratively-astragalled fanlight, windows on returns and further windows in flanking bays, regular fenestration to 1st floor. Pavilion to right with window, and timber door on return to left; that to left with 2 windows and further window on return to right; both with canted dormer addition to attic level.

S (GARDEN) ELEVATION: raised basement with door to centre and windows in flanking bays; overarching steps to centre bay door (altered from window) with pediment bearing coat-of-arms and dated 1991 at ground floor, windows in flanking bays and regular fenestration to 1st floor; further windows to each floor on returns, and to pavilions.

E ELEVATION: single storey outbuilding projecting.

W ELEVATION: window to left of centre of projecting pavilion.

Small-pane glazing patterns in timber sash and case windows. Grey slates. Coped ashlar stacks set longitudinally and cast-iron downpipes with decorative rainwater hoppers.

INTERIOR: not seen 1998.

BOUNDARY WALL: flat-coped rubble boundary wall (to W) with droved quoins and pedestrian door to centre.
