History

Octagonal lead fountain basin on stone plinth. Bears date 1773 but current arrangement with central cherubs is modern; formerly stood in Swansea Castle Gardens.

Octagonal lead fountain basin on stone plinth. Bears date 1773 but current arrangement with central cherubs is modern; formerly stood in Swansea Castle Gardens.

Each side of basin has end vertical bands of classicising relief decoration between which are 2 lugged panels with date, and low reliefs of female figures, swags, shells etc. Between panels, palmette decoration and initials ‘LC’. Modern central group of three cherubs.
