William Wilde 1701 Plaque, Black marble on white, with gold lettering inlay. An oval escutcheon below. To the Memory of William Wilde of this Parish, Gent. Who dyed 22d December 1701 in the 46th Year of his Age. And with his two Wives, was Buried in the Middle Isle of this Church. He married first Elizabeth, second Daughter of Mr Thomas Aynsworth also of this Parish by whom he had an only Son vizt John Wilde, Gent. Who wedded Sarah, Eldest Daughter of Thomas Moore of Great Appleby in this county, Gent. And dyed and dyed 11th of June 1739 in the 57th Year of his Age without Issue and was buried in the Middle Isle aforesaid. The abovenamed William Wilde espoused secondly Joan, second Daughter of George Moore, of Little Appleby Gent and Sister to John Moore of Kentwell Hall in the County of Suffolk, Esquire by whom he has an only Daughter vizt Sarah, Wife of Charles Townley of London Esquire whose Issue are only two Sons. Vizt Sir Charles Townley Knight Garter Principal King of Arms Elder Son, by whom this Monument is erected and the Reverend James Townley MA Rector of St Benet Grace Church in the said City of London, Younger Son. Arms: The Arms of the Garter King of Arms: Argent a cross gules On a chief of the second a lion rampant a garter inclosing a crown, and a fleur de lis or. Impaling Wilde: Quarterly 1 and 4 Argent a fess and in chief three mullets sable For difference a mullet or.
