Description

FORRABURY AND FORE STREET (west side), Boscastle
SW 09 90 MINSTER

7/44 Moss Rose (previously listed as
cottage adjoining Rosewarren)
17.12.62
GV II
House. Circa early C18. Rendered and painted stone rubble. Bitumen coated rag slate
roof with gable ends. Stone rubble stack on right hand gable end. Lower range set
back on right; stone rubble and rag slate roof with gable ends.
Plan altered and original arrangement uncertain. Comprises an overall 2 room plan;
the left hand part is possibly the lower right hand room of a house or terrace, now
known as Rosewarren (qv) and the right hand part, which is set back, is probably an
C18 one room plan addition with entrance on left.
2 storeys 1:1 window front. Main range with C19 2-light sliding sash on ground floor
and C19 6-pane sash above. Range set back on right with 4-panel door and C19 casement
with glazing bars.
Interiors not accessible.
Part of picturesque group in Fore Street, Boscastle.
