4/91 Sprys Farmhouse

GV II

House. Circa C17 with C18 and C19 alterations. Shale with some granite quoins and
dressings and cob at rear. Scantle slate roof with gabled ends and brick stacks.
L shaped on plan with rear wing and central projecting porch. 2 storeys and attic.
3 window range. Central 2 storeys and attic gabled porch with segmental brick arch
doorway and 12 pane sash above and each floor. Left hand wide 20 pane sashes.
Right hand 2 light casements with glazing bars. All window openings have segmental
brick arches. 2 granite quoins to right are reused parts of mullioned windows.
Stair window to rear has marginal glazing bars. Interior has wide straight flight
stair probably C18 left of centre and earlier dog leg type with winders behind left
room in wing. 2 panel door to this stair has very wide stiles and rails, probably
late C17. 2 open fireplaces one to right room has cloam oven. Flight of 6 granite
steps with wrought iron handrail to porch.
