Early-mid C19 (before 1849) pair of semi-detached villas; altered. Three storeys.
Originally one window each with slightly recessed single-storey entrance extension.
The entrance of No 36 has been rebuilt to form a 2 storey wing. Hipped slate roof
with brick ridge stacks. Brick with cornice and parapet. Gauged flat brick arches
the recessed sash windows with glazing bars; No 36A with splayed C19 bow window to
1st floor and modern shop window to ground floor; No 38 with round-arched ground
floor window with radial glazing. Round arched doorways to Nos 36A and 38 with
radial fanlights and panelled doors; parapet to No 38 ramped up over entrance;
No 36 with modern doorway. No 38 with patterned cast-iron balcony to lst floor
window. Included for group value.
