Description

AUDLEM C.P. STAFFORD STREET SJ 64 SE Ivy House, No.19 and 8/19 Holly House (formerly listed as large house, north-east of church (on north corner of Stafford Street and road leading to school) 12-1-67 GV II House, now subdivided into three houses. Mid/late C18. Whitewashed Flemish bond brick with a plain tile roof. Three storeys. Road front: Mid/late C19. Three bays symmetrically disposed, canted bay window to right and left at ground floor level with hipped roofs and to the centre a doorway with pedimental overdoor supported on brackets. Half-glazed door. Between the ground floor and first is a band of three bricks depth and there is a similar band between the first and second floors. Three first floor windows with stone sills and wedge lintels and with exposed near-flush sash boxes and 3 x 4 panes. Three similar windows with 3 x 2 panes to the second floor. Moddilion cornice to the top of the wall. To the left hand side is a C19 addition of two storeys having a tripartite window to the ground floor with a small pediment over the central light and a first floor window of 3 x 4 sash panes. The rear appears to have had a staircase window continuing through from the ground to second floor which is now blocked at right of centre. To the right of the ground floor and projecting at an angle is a single storey service wing.
