Church of St Mary and Adjoining Wall

A Grade I Listed Building in Bunny, Nottinghamshire

Column near south doorway, Church of St Mary the Virgin, Bunny

Circular column using some red sandstone. Different coloured stone indicates a different quarry, so this could be a repair: the church has had several restorations. Hefty wooden trusses wedged under the arches could have been used to support the clerestory wall while the work was going on. The lower parts have been given a coat of cement, some of it falling away. (Photo Oct 2015).
