Road bridge over the River Aire and the Leeds and Liverpool
Canal. 1886. By Hewson. Lattice iron girder type bridge with
applied decorative cast-ironwork on inside facing roadway.
Large stone abutments with capstones and large fielded-panel
on outside; inside facing road Leeds coat of arms in circular
panel with vermiculated spandrels. Main span over River Aire.
Continues over canal with single span of cast-iron
segmental-arched girders.
