Boundary walls to Nos 1, 3 and 5

GV II

Boundary walls with gates and gate piers. Mid C19. Coursed
squared gritstone with monolithic gate piers. Enclosing
gardens to S of Nos 1-5 on W, S and E sides. Overall length
approx 80m, height approx 1.5m. The gateway to No.1 is on the
W wall, those to Nos 3 & 5 are on the S wall. The piers have
shallow pyramidal capstones, the single-leaf gates have
scrolled spearhead finials. The terrace and gardens were built
after 1850 (Ordnance Survey map).
