C18 refronting of much earlier building. 2 storeys flint, stone rubble and
brick on ground floor with mathematical tile facing above. Band cornice with
lead drip and tile hung parapet. Old tile roof. 4 windows 1st floor, flush
framed sashes 4 panes wide. 3 windows irregularly spaced on ground floor and
plain door in later flint rubble arched porch with stone dressings. Brick gabled
wing to rear.
With No 9 De Vaux Place qv and No 6 St Nicholas's Road qv the building was
originally part of the College de Valle, founded by Bishop Bridport in 1261
as a theological college which continued there until the Dissolution.

Nos 6 & 8 form a group with No 9 De Vaux Place.
