House in row. c1860s. Flemish bond brickwork, hipped tile roof
behind parapet, brick stacks. This property is identical in
detail with No.12 (qv) adjoining, and must have been built or
rebuilt with it.
3 storeys and basement, 2-windowed. Plate-glass sashes with
brick voussoirs and fluted keystones with cornice, stone
cills. At ground floor the sashes are in moulded stone
architraves, with segmental heads, and to a cill band; a
further band at door-head height. To the left is a 6-panel
door under plain fanlight in V-joint pilasters and stepped
voussoirs, the central one of which carries a full-width stone
band. The right side, at party wall, carries a full-height
V-joint pilaster band. Coped parapet. The door to left gives
to a throughway, and entrance to the house is by a glazed door
off this. Back, with hipped roof, includes large 12-pane sash
at first and second floors, and 2 later wings.
INTERIOR has all original doors and fittings, including dogleg
stair with heavy square newels with ball cappings, and turned
balusters; this rises through both floors.
