TANWORTH-IN-ARDEN

House. Probably c1757 with later alterations. Reddish-brown
brick in stretcher bond with gabled plain-tile roof.
EXTERIOR: single-storey with attic, single cell, with
single-storey outshut to right. Plank door left of centre
under elliptical arch. To right a C20 casement under
elliptical arch. Further plank door to right outshut.
Dentilled eaves. Right end ridge stack. Small casement window
to rear right. Right gable has 2-light casement window under
elliptical arch.
INTERIOR: original staircase to left. Main parlour has
inglenook fireplace with bressumer beam, chamfered beam to
ceiling has chamfered stop; plank door to stairs with HL
hinges. Above entrance a plaque inscribed 'No 6 GFM 1878'.
Forms a group with The Birches (qv).
