Terrace house. 1781
MATERIALS: Limestone ashlar, roof not visible.
PLAN: Wide frontage property.
EXTERIOR: Three storeys and basement, three windows, all sashes, six-pane above large margin pane with flower guards, in slight sunk arched panel. Ground floor margin pane sash each side of panelled door in arched opening with keystone, and radial and swagged fanlight. Small basement area each side, to left with grille, and with simple spiked railings.
INTERIOR: No. 17 first floor flat recorded by Bath Preservation Trust 1994. Cornices but no ceiling rose. Original windows slightly altered, two upright glazing bars removed. Stone cantilevered staircase, wooden balusters with occasional metal one. Rear has little original detail left. Elaborate cornice detail in Drawing room. Front door copy of next doors and fan light. Curved cantilevered stone staircase set in curved wall. Mahogany rail, modern metal banisters. Narrow metal handrail copied from original. Window at top of stairs set in recessed arch and similar window at top of first floor. First floor retains much original moulding and decoration. Second floor rear bedroom has fine decorated cast iron hob and opposed semi-circles with reeded moulded surround.
