Row of 4 houses. c1800-1810, altered. Brick, Nos 5 & 7
rendered and painted white, but No.6 whitewashed; graduated
old slate roofs. Rectangular block. One unit each, all
formerly single-depth enlarged to one-and-a-half depth by
addition of rear outshuts.
EXTERIOR: the facade to Chase Heys is mostly 2 storeys, now
with irregular fenestration; No.6 has a square-headed doorway
to the right with an old board door, a 3-light fixed window at
ground floor (probably replacing a sliding sash) and at first
floor immediately under the eaves a 2-light sliding sashed
window with 4 panes per leaf.
To the left, No.7 and the former No.8 (No.88 Beresford Drive)
have altered windows on both floors, and an added porch with a
through lobby to the latter - which has a datestone lettered:
A.B / 1807.
To the right, No.5 has a gabled porch off-set right and a C20
2-light casement at ground floor (with shutters), but no
window above; its gable wall has one window on each floor,
like those at the front. 3 ridge chimneys.
The rear (to Beresford Drive) has continuous outshuts under
catslide roofs (No.5 higher than the others): that to No.6 has
two 2-light sliding sash windows with 4 panes per leaf; the
others have altered openings including a doorway to No.7 and a
small gabled porch breaking the eaves at No.88 Beresford
Drive.
