History

Earlier to mid C19 enclosing walls to a small garden, probably contemporary with the house, which is not marked on 1841 Pembroke St. Mary Tithe map.

Exterior

Garden to E of the house at Springfield is enclosed by stone rubble walls some 2.5 m high. The wall has curved angles and encloses a rough square to E of house, stopped at SE and NE corners of E wing. Grey stone copings.

Reasons for Listing

Included as a good surviving example of a small walled garden, of group value with the house at Springfield.
