GV II

Mill buildings, then Roman Catholic school, now dwellings. Mid
C18 with later additions and alterations including conversion
to school, then housing. Painted pinkish-brown brick in
Flemish bond with plain-tile roof. L-shaped on plan.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys, 5 first-floor windows. First floor: 6/6
elliptically-arched sashes with horns and elliptical arches,
brick sills. Ground floor: off-centre C20 part-glazed door. 4
similar windows with tile sills. Double hipped roof.
INTERIOR: first floor has king post roof, exposed wall-plate,
purlins and transverse beams.
Evidence of 3 wide cambered cart arches to ground floor
indicate the original use of the building as cart shed with
drying/storage area over, for the former Wootton Mill (qv).
