John and Margaret Hacker 1620, 1627. Large painted alabaster monument with bracketed panelled aedicule containing kneeling figures. Below relief panel with 4 male and 2 female child figures, and inscribed apron to John Hacker, 1620, and Margaret Hacker, 1627. Inscription: Here Lieth buried the bodies of John Hacker of Bridgford Esquire and Margaret his wife, who left issue 4 sonnes and 2 daughter, Hee departed this life the 28th of March Anno Domini 1620, and Shee departed this life the 5th of January 1627, in whose memory their said children have erected this monument. The inscription contains a large number of space saving devices for so short a piece, among them TH ligatures, T superscript s for This, crossed stem of P, bar above MI to show missing letters.
