Gabriel Brunts 1638. Slate wall memorial with white inlay lettering: Hic requiescit Gabrielis Brunts de Bridgford gener: vir optimis naturae ingeniique dotibo pro politus, qui cum Isabella uxore nuptavit filia Rolandi Dand de Maunsfield Woodhouse gener: Pro spacium quadragintum annorum vixit pro quam septem filios et quator filias habuit Quiquem interra moravit ad annum septuagessimum tertium aetatis suae et 13imo die Julii anno Domini 1638 pacifice in Domino obdormavit. My translation: Here lies Gabriel Brunts of Bridgford, gentleman. A man of the best nature and intelligence who loved diplomacy. Who took to wife Isabel the daughter of Roland Dand of Mansfield Woodhouse, gentleman, and lived together married for forty years and with whom he had seven sons and four daughters. The aforesaid Gabriel died and was buried in the seventy third year of his age and on the thirteenth day of July in the year of our Lord 1638. May he sleep in the Peace of the Lord. (Photo Jun 2015)
