Hic jacet corpus Gulielmi Sacheverell de Barton in Comitatu Nottinghamiensi Armiger, Gulielmi Sacheverell de Barton praedicto Armigeri et Ianae Secundae thalami Sociae Iohannae Newton Baronetto Lincolniensi prognatae filii Natu maximi Uxorem Aliciam prius in Caelum regressam ipse Sibi, non Suis faeliciter Secutus est quinto die Septembris Anno Domini millesimo Septengentesimo decimo quinto. My translation: Here lies the body of William Sacheverell of Barton in the county of Nottinghamshire, Esquire, son of William Sacheverell of Barton aforesaid, Esquire, and his second wife Jane, eldest daughter of Sir John Newton of Lincoln, Baronet. His wife Alice first being taken to Heaven, he by himself no longer happy, followed her on 5th Sept 1715. (Photo Oct 2014)
