In the south east corner of the chancel, below the monument to Raffe Sacheverell is a black marble tomb. The inscription is in Latin and names Maria Sacheverell, nee Staunton, wife of William Sacheverell, and their offspring. (This is badly eroded but the words were recorded in the Stretton Manuscripts of 1820) The arms carved in white marble on the west end are Argent on a saltire azure five water bougets or (Sacheverell) impaling. Argent two chevronels sable (Staunton) (Photo Oct 2014).
