North east corner of chancel, an alabaster tomb with the recumbent figure of a man in plate armour, his head lying on his helmet and his feet (missing) upon his gauntlets; a female by his side with a ruff and lappet, her head on a pillow. Neither effigy has retained their praying hands. On the tombs south side there are images of four children - two male, one female and one of infant female. The Sacheverell crest is carved on the west end. Inscription -Here lieth buried the body of William Sacheverell of Barton, Esq. He married Tabitha, sole heir of James Spencer, Gent. by whom he had issue 2 sonnes and 2 daughters.He deceased the 8 day of March, Anno Domini 1616-. (Photo Oct 2014).
