Medieval German, Swiss and Flemish glass roundels, Church of St Helen, Ashby de la Zouch.

The earliest glass is the German, Swiss and Flemish roundels, that are said to have been brought from Farleigh Hungerford (Somerset).
Shields of arms within roundels: 1) Quarterly of six: 1, Argent three ?talbots heads erased sable (?for Hall). 2, Azure a cross Moline or (Molyneux). 3 and 6 sable two bars in chief three demi lions or (?for Wendover), 4 and 5 Argent a bend gules between six eaglets displayed sable (?Vale). 2) Per fess Quarterly 1 and 4 Gules a lion passant or ( ) 2 and 3 Or two roundels pierced gules ( ). Barry nebuly of six argent and gules (Lovel). 3) Neville: Within a border of the Order of the Garter Quarterly 1 and 4 Gules a saltire argent (Nevill) 2 Gules three lions passant guardant in pale or within a bordure argent (Holland, Plantagenet) 4 Gules fretty or on a canton per pale ermine and the second a lymphad sable (Nevill, Baron Abergavenny) 4) Catherine Parr: A rose argent seeded or a crowned woman emergent proper (King’s Consort). 5) I byde my time. Gyronny of eight ermine and or (Campbell, Earl of Loudoun). 6) York and Lancaster (Red rose with white rose in pretence). (Photo Aug 2015).
