Weepers: five sons Walter (m Joyce Roper), Francis (m Maud Longford), Edward (m Barbara Devereux heiress to Devereux and Cayce), William, George (4th earl), all beardless and in armour and gold chains around their necks. Between them, four shields of Arms, three the same, the fourth impaling a prepared blank. All have Quarterly of 20, 1) Argent a maunch sable (Hastings). 2) Per pale indented gules and vert, over all a chevron or (Hungerford de Heytesbury). 3) Sable two bars in chief three roundels argent (Fitz John, used by Hungerford). 4) Barry of six ermine and gules (Hussey). 5) Gules three garbs argent banded of the field a chief or (Peverell). 6) Argent three toads erect sable (Botreaux, Northumberland). 7) Argent a griffin sejant gules (Botreaux, Devon). 8) Paly wavy of six or and gules (Moleyns). 9) Argent two bars gules in chief three torteaux (Moels). 10). Or three roundels gules a label of three points azure (Courtenay). 11) France quartering England a label of three points argent, on each point a canton gules (George Plantagenet, Duke of Clarence). 12) Per pale or and sable a saltire engrailed counterchanged (Pole). 13) Gules a saltire argent a label of three points compony argent and azure (Nevill). 14) Gules a fess between six crosses crosslet or (Beauchamp). 15) Chequy argent and azure a chevron ermine (Newburgh). 16) Argent three lozenges conjoined in fess gules (De Montacute). 17) England a bordure argent (Edmund Plantagenet of Woodstock, Earl of Kent). 18) Or an eagle displayed vert (Monthermer). 19). Or two bars gules in chief three torteauxes (Wake). 20) Or three chevrons gules (Clare) impaling Grandquarterly argent and gules in 2 and 4 a fret or over all a bend sable (DeSpencer).
The shield for George used to have six painted coats of arms for his wife, Dorothy Port. These are listed in Nichols Leicestershire vol 3 p621. (Photo Aug 2015).
